TESTIMONIAL
Frankie had the time of his life in Australia. The trip did so much to bolster his self-confidence and self-esteem, and we are already seeing the ripple effect here at home, where his circle of friends seems to be expanding every day.

Discover the wonders of the “Land Down Under” from koalas to kangaroos, on this amazing 28-day exploration of Australia. This is the most comprehensive and varied exploration of Australia available to young adults today. Explore the Outback as we paddle the spectacular Katherine Gorge, backpack the amazing Jatbula Track and visit a traditional Aboriginal village in “Dreamland.” In Queensland, experience the lush tropical coast as we raft the thrilling Tully and Barron Rivers, sail and snorkel the amazing Whitsunday Islands, then SCUBA dive the incomparable Great Barrier Reef.

Hike the Jatbula Track

Beginning in Los Angeles, we’ll travel to Sydney, then fly 5 hours north to Darwin on the North Coast of the Northern Territory. Next, we will trek to spectacular Edith Falls. This wonderful 62-kilometer journey is one of the finest treks in the world. We’ll begin in the Katherine Gorge and continue through groves of exotic paperbark trees to an escarpment high above the valley where we’ll see wallabees and kangaroos. Our 4-day traverse takes us to towering waterfalls and colorful and refreshing Billabong water pools each night. Our arrival at Edith Falls completes a trekking experience of a lifetime.

Visit an Aboriginal Village

As special guests of the Mangarrayi Aboriginal people in Never Never country, we’ll spend 2 days visiting their village where we’ll have an opportunity to interact with them and learn about their way of life.

Canoe the Katherine River

The far-western stretch of the Katherine River provides a chance to shoot gentle rapids and sleep among groves of paperbark trees. This 3-day outback canoe experience is beyond compare, as we camp on sandy beaches, fish for elusive “Barra,” and soak up the special atmosphere of the Katherine River in Dreamland.

Raft the Tully and Barron Rivers

A 3-hour flight from Darwin to Cairns takes us to the lush and green tropical Northeast Coast for a dramatic change of scenery. For 2 days we’ll raft Class III, IV and V whitewater rapids of these 2 rivers surrounded by tropical vegetation and exotic birds.

Sail the Whitsunday Islands

Next, we’ll move south for a sailing adventure like no other. Our 4-day sail through the sun-drenched archipelago of the Whitsunday Islands aboard our private sailboats is a mariner’s dream. Dozens of coconut palm-laden islands with white sand beaches beckon us to drop anchor for snorkeling each day. We’ll learn sailing skills, marine biology, and maritime history while keeping a lookout for dolphins and humpback whales.

SCUBA Dive the Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef offers us a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dive in the world’s premier diving location. From our 2-day classroom setting, we will move to our live-aboard boat where we’ll qualify for PADI open water certification. A total of 9 dives, 1 even at night, will reveal a paradise of giant clams, turtles, tropical fish, and hundreds of brightly colored corals. For pre-certified students, diving instruction can be replaced with several more open water dives for an additional fee of $400. (All students in our SCUBA diving program must pass a dive physical and cannot have used an inhaler or suffer from asthma).

Explore Historic Sydney

Our trip to the "Land Down Under" concludes with a visit to an Aboriginal cultural center where we can learn to throw a boomerang and play a didgeridoo. Following our flight to Sydney we'll spend a day visiting the famous Opera House, exploring The Rocks historical district and enjoying our farewell dinner on a harbor cruise.

For students completing 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grades, grouped according to age.
