TESTIMONIAL
I have made many life-long friends and have been fortunate enough to see some of the most beautiful areas of the country. I congratulate you for starting such a wonderful program that means so much to teens like me.

Locust Valley, New York

From the golden beaches of the Nicoya Peninusula to the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, this adventure provides an exciting new skill for beginners and is sure to thrill experienced surfers. Enjoy lush vegetation, crystal blue waters and the waves of two magnificent oceans.

Introduction to Spanish Language

Our introduction to Costa Rica begins with an orientation and a fun day of informal Spanish language instruction in San Jose. Here we’ll begin to adjust to the “Pura Vida” and “Tico Time” before we move on to the Nicoya Peninsula.

Surf the Famous Nicoya Peninsula

From San Jose, we’ll be off to our private lodge on the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. A backdrop of lush green vegetation and broad sandy beaches provides a perfect setting for our introduction to Costa Rican waves and classic breaks. Over the next 5 days, we’ll learn proper paddling and stance techniques under the guidance of professional instructors who will be able to impart new skills for novice surfers and hone the proficiency of the more advanced riders in the group.

Help Preserve Sea Turtles

From our surfing base camp, there will be plenty to do each evening as we assist with a sea turtle conservation project to help preserve the endangered sea turtles. Our 5-day project will involve nighttime beach patrols where we’ll record our sightings and assist with turtle nest protection and learn about sea turtle ecology.

Explore Arenal Volcano National Park

On our way to the Pacific, we’ll explore Arenal, a spectacularly active volcano where we’ll likely see an amazing display of beauty and power. We’ll ride a zip line through the forest canopy by day, and at night we’ll watch the glow of red hot lava flowing from this giant’s core.

Soak in the Tabacon Hot Springs

While visiting Arenal, we’ll take time to soak in the amazing tropical geothermal mineral pools of Tabacon. The views of Arenal from these springs are second to none.

Whitewater Raft the Pacuare River

Continuing west towards the Caribbean Sea, we’ll shoot the rapids of the world-famous Pacuare River for 2 days. Here we’ll develop team-building skills as we paddle our rafts through Class III and IV whitewater in a jungle environment filled with monkeys, parrots, and colorful toucans.

Surf and Snorkel the Caribbean Coast

Coral reefs, crystal blue waters, white sandy beaches, and amazingly clean surf breaks are the trademarks of the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. Our professional, personally-tailored surfing instruction continues as we improve our skills and increase our confidence. In between surfing sessions, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the wildlife of the coral reefs and snorkel among dolphins, sea turtles, and manatees. In the evenings, we’ll assist the local villagers with a meaningful service project. Our adventure concludes with a traditional tropical feast and a final night in San Jose before flying home.

For students completing 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grades, grouped according to age.
