Day 1

Landing into beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming, we'll greet you at the airport where you'll be able to catch inspiring views of the 13,771-foot Grand Teton and the surrounding cathedral group of peaks. Rising above the valley floor free from the impediment of foothills, the Teton's are one of the world's most most stunning spectacles. Having inspired the imaginations of great visionaries like Ansel Adams and Norman Rockwell, Wilderness Ventures founders Mike and Helen Cottingham found their own inspiration in the Tetons when they relocated to make Jackson Hole their permanent home after leading their first student summer expedition in 1973. Relax that evening at your hotel in Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's Teton Village.

Days 2-3

Acclimatize and immerse yourself in the mountain surroundings while we enjoy two days of climbing school with the renounded Exum School of Mountaineering. Exum is county's oldest professional climbing service, a national historic institution with whom Wilderness Ventures students have been climbing with since our first ascent of the Grand in 1973.

Days 4-5

Embarking on our overnight summit climb, we'll spend the first day hiking to our base camp above treeline at the Lower Saddle. Spending the night in an alpine hut at 11,000 feet, we'll rise in the early morning hours to begin our climb. Watching the sun come up our vantage point above the clouds is truly an inspiring experience, but it pales in comparison to the you'll we'll feel as we reach the top of the Grand Teton – one of America's most renowned peaks.

Days 6-7

Celebrating our accomplishments, we'll embark on a fun afternoon of paddling through the thrilling whitewater of the Grand Canyon of the Snake River. That evening, we'll share stories and during our final trip banquet at a historic restaurant in the Old West town for Jackson, receiving transport to the airport for our departing flights home the next morning.
