Combine the vibrant culture of Australia’s world “down under” with the lush, tropical beauty of Fiji on this wonderful South Pacific adventure. Our month long trek to the other side of the globe features SCUBA diving, sailing, surfing, rafting, sea kayaking and meaningful community service.
Sail and Surf Fiji's Tropical Paradise
After meeting our leaders in Los Angeles we’ll fly non-stop to the tropical paradise of Fiji, where we’ve been conducting trips for many years. Aboard our private sailboat we’ll explore remote islands and swim and snorkel in emerald waters for three days. Next we’ll learn to surf for two days on Fiji’s beautiful Natadola Beach. This location, with it’s gentle breaks is perfect for the beginner as we master basic paddling and stance techniques.Live and Work in a Highlands Village
Next we’ll move to the lush Fijian highlands, where we’ll and lend a hand in a tiny village we’ve assisted for many years. We’ll teach both English and computer skills to schoolchildren then help the village with a much needed building project. SCUBA Dive the Great Barrier Reef
We bid farewell to Fiji and fly to Carins and the tropical Queensland Coast of Australia. The Great Barrier Reef offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dive in the world’s premier diving location. From our two-day classroom setting, we move to our live-aboard boat where we’ll qualify for PADI open water certification. A total of nine dives, one even at night, will reveal a paradise of giant clams, turtles, tropical fish and hundreds of brightly colored types of coral. For pre-certified students, diving instructions can be replaced with several more open water dives. (All students in our SCUBA diving program must pass a dive physical and cannot have used an inhaler or suffered from asthma.) Sea Kayak the Barnard Islands
We leave the underwater world for three incredible days of sea kayaking in the beautiful near-by Barnard Islands. We’ll paddle among these uninhabited tropical islands of the Coral Sea for three days, camping on deserted beaches under a canopy of brilliant stars.Raft the Tully River
Next we’ll experience the thrill of tropical whitewater on the amazing Tully River. We’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation and colorful, tropical birds as we plunge through the Class III and IV rapids of one of Queensland’s most famous rivers.Visit An Aboriginal Village
A trip to the “ Land Down Under” wouldn’t be complete without an opportunity to see this continent through the eyes of it’s natives. We’ll visit the Kuku Yalanji Clan for two days, where we’ll learn about their traditional and fascinating life. We’ll even try our luck at throwing a boomerang and playing a didgeridoo!Visit Sydney
Our adventure concludes with two nights in beautiful Sydney, where we’ll visit colorful neighborhoods and the famous Sydney Opera House. The last night we’ll feast on our harbor cruise banquet before boarding our group flight back to Los Angeles.
