Raft the Pacuare River
It was our first day on the trip and we were all rested and ready to raft! We spent the day rafting awesome rapids and swimming in crystal waters. We stopped at a cool waterfall and climbed vines like Tarzan! Our raft guides are excellent cooks and are super funny. In the evening, after our failed attempt of playing mafia, our raft guides told us ghost stories. After the stories we were jumpy all night. Caroline, Molly and I ran out of the bathroom screaming when someone turned the lights off. All in all, the first day was really fun and super incredible. I think everyone is really pumped about the rest of the trip. We have such an awesome group! PURA VIDA!

Surf Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast
We’ve been surfing for the past two days with our totally rad instructors, Greg and Nicole. Greg is a total dude and Nicole is a great surfer. We base our sleeping hours on the tides so we catch the mucho grande waves. Surfing takes a lot of sweat and sunscreen, but there is nothing that compares to the sensation of a wave carrying you across the water. After a full day of surfing you are ready to crash, but sometimes we are awaken by crazy howling monkeys who are screaming and playing in the trees!

SCUBA Dive Belize’s Barrier Reef
Yesterday we took a boat to Glovers Atoll, where we learned how to SCUBA dive. How incredible! We saw so many different kinds of fish and ocean creatures. It is like another world under water. It is brimming with life and color. It was totally rad. The food where we are staying is amazing too. Everyday Warren went out and caught fish for dinner. After he filleted the fish, he threw parts we couldn’t eat into the water to attract more fish. The cabins we are staying in are absolutely incredible. They have thatched roofs and are built on stilts over the water. This place is unlike any thing I have ever experienced!

Sail the Cays of Belize
For the past 3 days we have been sailing in Belize and it has been so much fun. I am learning how to sail and I think it is so incredible we can harness the power of the wind. Every day we have been snorkeling and yesterday we swam with manatees. Today we stopped by an aquarium, which was really cool too. This morning we saw a stingray, dolphins, and some nurse sharks. I think learning to sail has been one of the best parts of the trip. It is really cool to lay on the deck with our group at night and see so many shooting stars and the Milky Way.
