Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Tahiti, Fiji & New Zealand Adventure special?
With four plane flights during the course of the trip, we are able to offer the most complete South Pacific experience possible. If you really want to experience the variety of South Pacific, this trip offers what no other program does.

Where will I be sleeping?
During this adventure you will be sleeping at a variety of accommodations. We will be sleeping in hotels, eco lodges, riverside bungalows, and on sailboats. There is no camping on this adventure.

What will the weather be like? Isn’t it winter in the southern hemisphere?
Yes, it is winter in the southern hemisphere. In Fiji and Tahiti, the warm island climate does not change much with the seasons, and we will be there during the dry season. In New Zealand, the days will be cooler than in the tropics, but our destination on the North Island is known for its mild winter temperatures.

What will our group eat?
We will eat a mix of local fare and Wilderness Ventures favorites. Whether we are dining at a local restaurant or preparing our own meal, there will always be ample food that is both delicious and nutritious.

What will the transportation be like?
We will utilize a wide variety of transportation on this adventure. We will travel by ferry, private motor coach, planes, and sailboats.

Will I need a sleeping bag?
No. Not on this adventure! All of our accommodations provide single beds with linens. Rooms are separated by gender.

Do I need a passport?
All students traveling internationally with Wilderness Ventures must have a valid passport. If you do not already have a passport, we recommend you begin the application process as soon as you begin enrolling in your international WV trip. It normally takes six weeks to get a passport

Can my family meet me after my trip is over?
Yes. Each year, many families choose our international destinations as spots for family vacations. If you would like to meet your family after your trip is over, meeting times and places can be arranged through the WV office.
