Surf Tahiti’s Turquoise Waters
Our group flight from Los Angeles lands on the mountainous, emerald island of Tahiti, a French Polynesian paradise of turquoise bays and palm-rimmed, white sandy beaches. Our initial goal is to find the perfect wave as we enjoy 2 days of surfing lessons with our professional Tahitian instructors. We’ll learn how to read the water, as well as proper stance and paddling techniques. Protected by coral reefs, these waters are perfect for learning how to surf, and the setting is unparalleled.SCUBA Dive on Moorea
Next we’ll travel by ferry to the extinct volcanic island of Moorea where we’ll spend 5 days becoming certified PADI SCUBA divers. The warm tropical waters, protected by coral reefs, are a perfect environment for our diving instruction. Following our classroom studies, we’ll travel to several dive sites teeming with colorful fish and coral. We’ll see an abundance of sea life, including dozens of giant Manta rays. Those choosing not to dive will have numerous snorkeling opportunities available to them. (All students in our SCUBA diving program must pass a dive physical and cannot have used an inhaler or suffer from asthma.)Sail New Zealand’s Bay of Islands
From the tropical waters of the South Pacific, we’ll travel to Auckland and the warm northern tip of New Zealand. For 3 days, aboard 2 private sailboats, we’ll sail these amazing islands steeped in whaling history and Kiwi lore. We’ll learn how to sail, tie knots, and navigate from our native skipper. We’ll likely see playful dolphins alongside our boat each day, while we gaze at the Southern Cross and a canopy of stars at night.Stay on a Kiwi Farm
Next we’ll sample New Zealand life as we are welcomed on a family farm for 2 days. Here, we’ll discover a simpler, rural life, as we meet with locals and help our host family milk cows, shear sheep, and feed horses. We’ll definitely get a feel for this beautiful country.Sail Fiji’s Tropical Paradise
We’ll fly to Fiji where we’ll spend the next 4 days sailing aboard our private sailboat to some of the most remote and beautiful islands to be found anywhere. Snorkeling will be excellent, and we’ll partake in a traditional Fijian meal at a local village, where we’ll be welcomed by Fijian Chiefs and entertained by village dancers.Assist Fijian Villagers
Traveling into the remote Fijian Highlands, we'll live and work in an agrarian community in need. Aside from making meaningful connections with the local population, we'll participate in a substantive service project designed to benefit the dynamic needs of this rural community.
SCUBA Dive Remote Reefs in Fiji
We can’t leave the South Pacific without one more opportunity to dive at a remote reef where we’ll have the opportunity to explore a magical garden of coral and colorful tropical fish. We’ll conclude our stay with a celebratory tropical feast before boarding our return flight to Los Angeles.
