Hike, Mountain Bike and Zipline Whistler Blackcomb
After arriving in Seattle it’s a short trip into Canada to the “Sea To Sky Corridor” just north of Vancouver, where we’ll spend our initial day building team skills on an amazing ropes course. Then we will be off to the spectacular mountain environment of world-famous Whistler Resort. Here, we’ll choose to either hike or mountain bike for 2 action-packed days. The trails are limitless as we hike or bike to waterfalls, pristine lakes, or glaciers while being surrounded by the spectacular scenery of British Columbia’s snowcapped peaks. This will be a fitting and fun time to get to know each other before our more challenging activities.Ski or Snowboard Blackcomb Glacier
Though it is summer, Whistler Blackcomb Glacier offers year-round skiing and snowboarding opportunities. This skier’s paradise is home to the annual World Cup Freestyle Competition and the 2010 Winter Olympics. For 2 days, we can choose to either use instructors to improve our ski and snowboarding skills or spend our time cruising the slopes with our trip mates. Either way, it will be a fun 2 days of summertime skiing or snowboarding.Learn to Whitewater Kayak
Our action-packed adventure continues with 4 days of whitewater fun. We’ll begin on the placid waters of Alta Lake with professional whitewater kayaking instructors who will teach us the fundamentals of whitewater kayaking such as eddy turns, peel outs, and eventually, rolls. We’ll build our skills and confidence and then we’ll be off to the Cheakamus River where we’ll progress downriver through numerous exhilarating and fun rapids. At river’s end we’ll all celebrate our newly acquired skills. This is an ideal beginning kayak program with a high level of individual instruction. Choose between fun “sit atop” kayaks or the more traditional hardshell boats. It’s a great opportunity to learn a new outdoor skill in a relaxing and non-competitive atmosphere.Learn Rock Climbing Skills on the Famous Chief
Next, under the direction of certified Canadian mountain guides, we’ll spend 3 wonderful days learning the skills necessary to climb the second largest granite monolith in the world. The Stawamus Chief, as this granite face is called, dominates the scenery over Howe Sound and is world-famous. Our third day’s climb of this world-renowned buttress is an awesome experience as the views on the summit of the Coastal Range of Vancouver Island and beyond are unbelievable.Visit Vancouver
As we leave British Columbia, we’ll spend a morning exploring Vancouver then head back to Washington to enjoy a day of fun whitewater rafting.Whitewater Raft the Sauk River
Passing through the North Cascades, we'll stop off for an exciting day of whitewater on the amazing Sauk River, which tumbles from the snowfields of the nearby peaks. Under the careful instruction of expert, local guides, we'll enjoy paddling together as a team to navigate these thrilling rapids. Sea Kayak the San Juan Islands
Board a ferry boat for the to the beautiful San Juan Islands. Under the careful instruction of our Wilderness Ventures Sea Kayaking Specialist, we'll spend the next 3 days plying the placid waters of the Puget Sound. We'll learn fundamental paddling skills in our stable sea kayaks, then visit some of the smallest and most pristine uninhabited islands of the archipelago. Gliding through a glassy sea by kayak is truly a thrilling experience, and provides sightings of seals, bald eagles, loons, and usually Orca whales. We'll spend our final day visiting Pike Place Market and the Space Needle in Seattle before our traditional end of summer banquet.
