Leadership Adventures

Most of these adventures have been conducted for the past 30 to 38 years and offer unequalled opportunities for personal growth in the most stunning environments imaginable.

MASON HARNEY

North Potomac, Maryland
Trips as a Student: Cascade Olympic, Hawaii, Jackson Hole

"Wilderness Ventures really helped me find out who I am in ways I couldn't have imagined. Whether sea kayaking in the Puget Sound, backpacking on the beaches of Hawaii or learning to rock climb in the mountains around Jackson Hole, I gained a newfound respect for wild lands and learned that I could have fun in new environments."

Our classic Leadership Adventures, for students completing 7th through 11th grades, are grouped according to age.

Whether you are a beginner or have experience, you will find a challenge perfectly suited to your particular interests and abilities. Most importantly, if you wish to expand your horizons within in a non-competitive, small group environment where you will be a valued and important part of your small community, these adventures are for you.

Overnight backpacks, paddles and climbing trips range from three to eight days each (depending upon trip), with showers available after each activity. We sleep in small, two or three person tents, segregated by gender, and cook most of our meals outside with the exception of an occasional night out for pizza or local fare.

Why These Trips Are Unique

Because of our vast and unequalled number of federal land use permits, we can offer fabulous programming with far less driving than any similar appearing program.

What You Need To Provide

All you need to bring is a backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, hiking boots, personal clothing and lots of enthusiasm. (We offer backpack, sleeping bag and sleeping pad rentals for most programs. Bicycles are provided free for all biking trips.)
