Rock Climbing in Telluride
This morning we woke up ready to climb! First we made pancakes for breakfast and packed our lunches, and then left camp to meet our guides. Once we were suited with gear, we hiked a short distance to our climbing spot, where we all braved the heights. I felt pretty nervous at the start, but got comfortable on the rock really quickly. In the afternoon we went into town for some well deserved ice cream and to buy some souvenirs. After we got back to camp, we decided to climb this really cool mountains with awesome waterfalls. Halfway up it started to rain, but we were having so much fun and all wanted to get to the top! Finally we got there, but had to hurry down, We had an amazing dinner of grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. It's off to bed early tonight, since we have an even bigger day of climbing ahead of us tomorrow.

We woke up early this morning to get ready for our hike in Arches National Park. We ate breakfast, filled our water bottles and started out! The sky was so blue - it looked beautiful against all the red rock. We saw many famous arches such as Double O, Landscape and Delicate Arch. We also saw some ancient cave drawings. In the afternoon we went for a swim to get out of the heat. I can't wait to explore the area more later in the trip and go canyoneering tomorrow!

Oh my gosh! I cannot wait to tell Jim about this. He thought riding bikes around town was fun? Wait till he tries rafting. These two-man oar boats that we learned to use are TOO FUN! I get to oar the boat half of the day and my partner rows us the other half. I like to row a lot so maybe later this week I should find a partner who doesn't like to row and I will get to do it all day. Our guides are awesome! This one, his name is Finn, is my favorite. He is hilarious and has spent a lot of time teaching me all of his tricks of fast maneuvering and how to hit the rapids the best. He said I am a natural and that he is going to ride in MY boat tomorrow.
