Backpack the Continental Divide
Southeast of Yellowstone Park, the Washakie Wilderness remains one of Wyoming's best kept secrets. We'll traverse this stunning range straddling the Continental Divide, passing over high ridges and admiring the many sparkling lakes tucked among jagged peaks. We will spend our days learning basic navigation skills, low-impact camping techniques, and wilderness cooking procedures, while at night we'll be amazed at the bountiful and brilliant star-filled sky.Whitewater Raft the Snake River
Continuing south, we will stop just outside of Jackson Hole for a fun-filled day on one of Wyoming's best stretches of exciting whitewater, the Grand Canyon of the Snake River.Sea Kayak Yellowstone's Wilderness
There is no better way to experience the magic of Yellowstone National Park than from a sea kayak. We'll paddle Shoshone and Lewis Lakes, camp on sandy beaches, and savor an environment only Yellowstone can offer. We'll travel past colorful, flower-filled meadows, waterfalls, hot thermal springs, and steaming geysers while watching for moose, elk, bald eagles, white pelicans, and possibly bears. In this wonderful setting there will be time to relax or swim, and for those who choose, fish for elusive rainbow trout.Learn Whitewater Kayaking in Jackson Hole
The Snake River provides the perfect environment for 4 days of kayaking instruction. First we'll learn to handle our boats on placid lake water, then move to the Snake River where we'll practice our new skills. By the third day we'll be polishing wet exits, kayak rolls, braces, eddying, and wave surfing. Our final day will be filled with exhilarating whitewater fun, kayaking down the Grand Canyon of the Snake River. This is an ideal beginning kayak program with a high level of individual instruction. Choose between fun "sit atop" kayaks or the more traditional hard shell boats. It's a great opportunity to learn a new outdoor skill in a relaxing and non-competitive atmosphere.Climb the Grand Teton
The world-famous Exum School of Mountaineering offers us the necessary skills to scale the Teton spires. Our 2-day instructional program covers knots, signals and belaying, rappelling, and additional safety-related techniques. Advancing according to ability and desire, we'll then embark on our challenging 2-day climb of the Grand Teton. Words fail at the rush of emotion and sense of accomplishment attained by cresting the 13,771-foot summit, one of America's most renowned peaks. Our Great Divide Adventure will conclude with our end-of-trip banquet in Jackson Hole, at the base of the Tetons. Since 1977 over 3,000 young adults have climbed the Grand Teton with us. That's ten times more than all other teenage programs combined.
