Immerse yourself in beauty, excitement and fun on this diverse regional exploration. From the spectacular backcountry of Montana's Beartooth Mountains to the thrill and solitude of Idaho's Salmon River, this adventure features the best environments and activities in the northern Rocky Mountains.

Explore the Craters of the Moon

Visit this mystical, one-of-a-kind landscape of ancient volcanic cones. Craters of the Moon National Monument encompasses one of the largest and best exhibitions of volcanic features in the continental United States. We'll have the opportunity to learn about the traumatic geologic history of this area while hiking into lava tubes and exploring the depths of lava-carved caves.

Hike the Eagle Cap Wilderness

Trek in far-eastern Oregon through the state's most beautiful Wilderness area. Visit glacier-carved basins, flower-filled meadows and towering peaks. In this remote and beautiful environment, we'll learn backcountry skills such as map and compass use, wilderness cooking and, generally, how to live and have fun in the out of doors. Most importantly, we'll grow together as a team while enjoying the peace of this splendid environment.

Whitewater Raft the Salmon River

For four days, we'll enjoy an epic river trip that mixes lazy, clear pools with exciting Class III and IV rapids. Easily considered the best multi-day rafting trip in the Northern Rockies, the Salmon River meanders through desert canyons and along picturesque sandy beaches, of which we are the only inhabitants. We'll spend our late afternoons immersed in secluded games of beach volleyball and dine at night on waterfront feasts.

Backpack the Continental Divide

Traverse the stunning mountains of the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness - one of Montana's best kept secrets. Travel along high mountain ridges, amidst azure lakes, flower-strewn meadows and snowfields ripe for glissading. Fall asleep each night under a clear, mountain sky.

Sea Kayak Yellowstone

Ply the waters of the highest alpine lake in the continental United States. We'll camp and cook delicious meals on remote beaches. During the days, we'll spot moose, elk, bald eagles, white pelicans and maybe even a bear along the remote shoreline of Yellowstone Lake. During our afternoons we'll have ample time to fish for rainbow trout or simply relax and swim in these beautiful, clear waters.

Trek the Beartooth Mountains

The Beatooth range houses the most expansive lush alpine plains in the Rocky Mountains. We'll traverse this stunning range through a landscape of ancient exposed granite, fragile high-altitude tundra and a plentiful peppering of pristine alpine lakes. Sleep each night under a brilliant, star-filled sky as we build anticipation for our culminating adventure.

Rock Climb in the Tetons

Learn basic and intermediate rock climbing skills from the world-famous Exum School or Mountaineering. After learning the necessary technical and team skills for a safe and fun time, we'll summit a magnificent granite peak in the Teton Range. Words cannot express the sense of accomplishment you and the entire group will feel when we crest the top of the summit, affording us views of all three states our adventure has taken us to and giving us the general feeling that we are, quite literally, on top of the world. After our victorious summit, we'll visit the Old West town of Jackson Hole and feast on an evening banquet befitting of our accomplishments and shared companionship.

All the major components of this expedition have been offered by us for the past 37 years.
