Day 1

Flying over the Teton Range into the heart of Jackson Hole, it’ll be difficult to decide what you’re more excited about, the soaring scenic Teton Peaks, or the winding trout-filled rivers. Fortunately here, you get the best of both worlds! Exiting your plane you’ll be greeted by your team leaders and meet your other fellow venturers. Finding something in common with these folks will be simply second nature as everyone is there to do the same thing, fish! From the airport it’s a short ten-minute drive to our first campsite in Grand Teton National Park, where we’ll set up camp, hang out, and talk about the fishing we have in store for us.

Day 2-4

Next we leave the park and head over the Teton Pass into Idaho and toward the trout-teaming Teton River! Accompanied by the masterly skillful Orvis endorsed fishing guides, we’ll learn how to cast, as well as all the other necessities like handling trout, river safety, entomology and trout species.  Once we’ve all become well-polished anglers, we’ll take to the river to stalk, and hopefully catch, the slyly instinctive Rainbow and Cutthroat trout. At night when we’ve had enough casting for one day, we’ll settle on the banks of the river, letting the whispering water lull us to sleep while we dream about tomorrow’s next big fight.

Day 5-8

Moving away from Idaho, we’ll migrate toward Yellowstone National Park, our next fishing and backpacking destination, as we work Pebble Creek for the next three days. As our backpacking begins, we’ll travel shorter distances at first, allowing us time to learn important backcountry travel skills that go hand in hand with fishing. As we trek we’ll cover basics like cooking skills, minimum impact camping, as well as map and compass skills. Also leaving ample time to gaze at the verdant alpine meadows, abundant wildlife, and of course to hunt for the infamous Cutthroat which Yellowstone is so well known for. After hiking out of the wilderness on our last day, we’ll head to town for some quick showers, laundry, and other preparations for our next backpacking trip into the rugged Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness in Montana!

Day 9-13

After preparations have been made for our four-day excursion, we’ll be setting out deep into the protruding snowy peaks and glassy high mountain lakes of the Absaroka-Beartooth country! But first, no adventure in this region would be complete without the chance to raft the famous Yellowstone River. Working as a team under the careful instruction of professional guides, we'll navigate the exhilarating and safe whitewater of the Yellowstone. After this rewarding break, we'll once again venture into the backcountry and the most amazing environment imaginable for high alpine fishing. The Beartooth Wilderness is a consists mainly of towering peaks that surround pastoral alpine tundra peppered with fish-filled lakes. Slightly more challenging than your first backpacking trip, but well worth the effort, we’ll hike to gain access to rarely fished lakes filled with Brook trout! Aside from continuing to progress as an angler, traveling through this rustic backcountry will also help you to improve upon the backpacking skills you acquired in Yellowstone.

Day 14

Drift boating is the quintessential Rocky Mountain fly fishing experience to round out our adventures in the blue ribbon streams and high alpine lakes of the greater Yellowstone area. We'll rejoin the famous Orvis guides for an amazing day of floating and casting into the Snake River from drift boats. A great finale for an journey, we'll cover an amazing amount of water and be sure to catch a ton of fish!

Day 15-16

For our final day together, we’ll hit the rapids of the Grand Canyon of the Snake River in whitewater rafts! Firing through these class III rapids is a great closer to a great trip. That night we’ll all gather ‘round the table for a feast fit for anglers coming home off of the river. It’s a great time to relive our stellar trip, enjoy each other’s company one last time, and retell the story about the "one that got away." In the morning we’ll bid farewell as our time together have come to an end. A fantastic time had by all, we’ll have memories and friends to last a lifetime.
