Backpack The Wind River Range
After arriving in Jackson Hole, we’ll begin a 8-day trek in Wyoming’s largest and highest mountain range. This beautiful trek through the Wind River Range provides a perfect setting for us to learn and improve many aspects of wilderness leadership skills, including map and compass use, route and campsite selection, backcountry cuisine, basic wilderness first aid, minimum-impact camping, and alpine travel. Few words can describe the spectacular beauty and solitude of this rugged mountain environment – jagged spires, alpine meadows, glaciers, lakes, and views as far as the eye can see.Rock Climb and Mountaineer in the Wind River Range
After eight days of glorious wilderness travel, we’ll set up base camp in a high cirque surrounded by towering peaks. In this awesome setting, we’ll spend several days learning the safety precautions and techniques necessary to conduct safe mountaineering trips. We’ll climb introductory single and multi-pitched routes for 2 days, then, our skills improved, we’ll spend 2 days ascending spectacular peaks like Mount Bonneville (12,585), Mid-Summer Dome (11,172), Pyramid Peak (12,030), and Overhanging Tower (12,164). We’ll celebrate our accomplishments back in Jackson Hole at our final celebration dinner.
Whitewater Raft the Snake River
