Our Costa Rican exploration is an exciting combination of diverse wilderness travel and stimulating cultural immersion in an unspoiled tropical paradise. From sea kayaking along the Pacific Coast; to rafting jungle rivers; to hiking amidst exotic birds and wildlife in lofty cloud forests, this twenty-one day expedition not only offers high adventure but the cross-cultural education of a lifetime.
 Sea Kayak the Gulfo Dulce
From San José, our group is transported to the Osa Peninsula, a land of incredible plant and animal diversity. We’ll paddle the pristine waters of the Gulfo Dulce, where we’ll marvel at the beautiful waterfalls and emerald tides of the Pacific Coast. We’ll camp under a star-lit sky on soft, sandy beaches. Hike the Corcovado Rainforest
From this tropical coast we trek into the dense Corcovado Rain Forest, a great opportunity to learn about the surrounding ecology. Then, we will rappel down cascading waterfalls for a different perspective of the jungle. Whitewater Raft the Pacuare River
We then head north to the Pacuare River to spend three days rafting world-class whitewater. Hearts racing, we'll negotiate Class III and IV rapids. Along the way, our cultural experience is enhanced when we lend helping hands to a fun service project aiding local villagers, rich with culture and tradition. Climb Mt. Chirripo
On to the Savegre Area, the cloud forest reserve, where a hike through this unique and lush forest teaches us the natural history of local flora and fauna. Before we take off for the highest peak in Costa Rica, we’ll take turns soaring through the canopy of the cloud forest on a zip-line. Then, off to the mountains! Monkeys, toucans, parrots and many other birds charm us, as local guides lead us up the flanks of Mt. Chirripo. On a clear day, this incredible peak offers views of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Surf the Osa PeninsulaCosta Rica's West Coast is home to some of the best surfing waves anywhere in the world. For two days, our local surfing instructors will teach us the basics of paddling, standing up on the board, and riding these famous warm water waves. Our journey concludes with a traditional tropical feast and a final night in San José before departing for home.
