We knew that a small group experience in the wilderness would serve as a valuable catalyst to enable our students to become more responsible, tolerant, and self-confident as well as develop a powerful, all-inclusive community. We also knew that through an intimate outdoor experience, our students would learn to become peer leaders, acquire a responsible appreciation for the natural wonders of our planet and develop a newfound environmental ethic to carry with them throughout their lives.

Since those first nine years when we personally led our groups, we have found that our summer experiences have had a profound life-long value and resonance for our students beyond even our wildest dreams.

Although we now also offer several new opportunities, such as our international destinations, bicycling adventures, and community service components to our trips our highly successful founding vision, philosophy, and purpose has not changed as we enter our 40th summer season.
